The national Training Team was set up to provide a focus for all
training needs within the organisation.
The development and publication of a National Training Scheme was
the first major project undertaken and was launched in 1994. It shows
how a Group Controller can optimise the skills of his group using
the principles of the OMT, the Operations Management Team.
The Training Scheme has formed the basis for a series of residential
courses that have been held at The Emergency Planning College at Easingwold,
near York. For further details contact the training Team.
Because the Committee of Management of The Radio Amateurs' Emergency
Network comprises entirely individuals who are active officers of
members of their own groups, the National RAYNET Training Team is
in an unique position to develop proactive training packages.
One example of a training aid is the picture game. This comprises a photograph
showing four views of a particular point. The only other clues given
are the direction in which the photo has been taken and the Ordnance
Survey (1:50,000) map that shows the subject. We can show an example
of this game.
